GM Military Discount for 2026

CHECKED AT THE SOURCE: OCTOBER 30, 2026 · OFFICIAL BRAND PROGRAM SITE

Does GM offer a military discount?

Yes. The GM Military Appreciation offer applies to eligible new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles. Chevrolet lists it at $500 total cash allowance on most models. Who qualifies, per GM's program site: Active Duty members, Reservists, National Guard members, all Veterans, and Retirees of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard, and their sponsored spouse.

CURRENT VERIFIED OFFER
$500 total cash allowance on most Chevrolet models, per Chevrolet

The GM Military Appreciation offer goes toward the purchase or lease of an eligible new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, or Cadillac. The amount is not one flat figure across GM: GM's eligible vehicle list shows $1,000 on the 2025 Cadillac XT4 and XT6, for example, so check your model. In most cases it combines with other current GM offers.

Military retirees
✓ Eligible
Veterans
✓ Eligible: GM's program site says all Veterans
Spouses
✓ Must be sponsored by an eligible member
Surviving spouses and family
✗ Not covered, per GM's FAQ

GM's site names the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. It does not name the Space Force, so Space Force members should confirm with GM. GMC's own page still says Veterans within 3 years of discharge, and adds designated household members. GM's program site is the one that issues the authorization number, so go by what it tells you when you register.

How to redeem

  1. Create a GM account and register at gmmilitaryappreciation.com.
  2. Prove your status through ID.me. GM's FAQ lists an LES from the last 30 days, current orders for activated Guard or Reserve members, a DD-214 for veterans, and retiree documents such as a retiree account statement. A copy of a CAC is not accepted.
  3. Click Get Authorization Number. GM emails the number to you, and it is good for 90 days.
  4. Tell the dealer at first contact that you are using the offer. Bring the number and a copy of your driver's license with the license number redacted. The dealer must have the number before you take delivery.

Set up verification once. Many military discounts confirm your status through ID.me, SheerID, or GovX. How military verification works →
