Subject: Your StandWatch Update: one rate move, three discounts checked, one deadline

THE NUMBER

The 30-year fixed mortgage average (Freddie Mac PMMS via FRED) moved to 6.55%, up from 6.49% the week before (as of July 16, 2026). If you have a Rate Watch set, your target math already uses the new number.

CHECKED AT THE SOURCE THIS MONTH

Apple: the Veterans and Military Store lists a 10% discount, checked at Apple's official page in July 2026. Hilton: our page now covers the whole family: Hampton Inn, DoubleTree, and Embassy Suites rates. Best Buy: the straight answer is no standing military discount, by the company's own statement, and we say so.

GUIDE UPDATE

The VA Refinance Guide now opens with short answers on IRRRL closing costs, the "no closing cost" refinance, and the 36-month recoupment protection (updated July 18, 2026).

WORTH YOUR CALENDAR

Recently separated? VGLI's no-health-questions window runs 240 days from separation; after that, health questions apply and the door narrows. The Life Insurance Guide walks through it.

This sample was assembled from real StandWatch data with the dates shown, to show the format honestly. Every issue: no spam, no calls, one-click unsubscribe, and we never sell your information.
