Open Season: plan year 2027

Federal Benefits Open Season for plan year 2027 runs November 9 to December 14, 2026.

* Nine FEHB plans end after 2026. If you are in one and do not pick a new plan by December 14, OPM enrolls you in Compass Rose Standard. See the nine

Your Open Season checklist: five steps

Your program
Your drug
  1. Look up your drug in a plan’s drug list (the button on each plan) and note its tier.
  2. Pick that tier here. Every plan shows what one fill costs on it, and the brochure’s own words if it names your drug.

A drug can sit on a different tier in each plan. Change the tier on any plan below to match that plan’s list. The drug name and price you type stay on this device; nothing is saved or sent.

The short answer: no public file says which tier a drug sits on in each FEHB or PSHB plan. OPM publishes no drug lists, and most plans keep theirs in their pharmacy manager’s lookup. So this page does what the public record allows: you bring the tier from the plan’s drug list, and it shows what that tier costs per fill in every 2027 plan, with the brochure’s per-fill limits and page numbers, plus every passage where a brochure names your drug.

How the figures are built

THE TIER PRICE

From OPM’s 2027 plan files: each plan’s summary for Tier 1 to Tier 4. Where we read the plan’s brochure for a per-fill limit (a percent up to a dollar cap), the brochure’s figure is shown with its page. Where a brochure states no limit, the page says so. In a high-deductible plan the deductible comes first.

THE BROCHURE’S WORDS

Searched in each 2027 brochure’s changes for 2027, its prescription drug benefits, and its exclusions, quoted word for word with the page. Brochures name kinds of drugs (insulin, inhalers, biologics, contraceptives) far more often than brand names, so a brand you take may not appear. That says nothing about coverage: the drug list decides.

WITH MEDICARE

A plan’s Medicare drug plan has its own prices and list. This page reads the plan’s regular drug benefit only. The GLP-1 pages show each brochure’s Medicare drug plan passages for weight-loss drugs.

Before you decide

WHAT THIS PAGE IS, AND IS NOT

The plan decides coverage and claims under its brochure, and your employing office handles eligibility and enrollment. If a plan denies a claim, the brochure’s disputed claims section shows how to ask the plan to reconsider and then ask OPM to review it. Every brochure says it: “This brochure is the official statement of benefits.”

A drug’s tier, prior approval, step therapy, and quantity limits are set by each plan’s drug list, which can change during the year. The per-fill figures here are estimates from the plan’s own summary; your pharmacy and the plan’s drug price lookup give the real price.
