Coverage Comparison Worksheet
A cheaper premium often just means less coverage. The only honest comparison holds the coverage identical and looks at the total price: so start from your current declarations page and make every quote match the same limits and deductibles. Then compare apples to apples here.
Your data stays on your device. Nothing you type here is sent to StandWatch or anyone else. This is just a printable form: fill it in, print or save the PDF, and it's yours. A saved or printed copy can contain sensitive account details, so store it somewhere safe.
Compare three quotes: identical coverage
Pull the limits and deductibles from your current declarations page first, then make every insurer quote the SAME. A lower price with lower limits isn't a better deal.

Replacement cost vs. actual cash value matters a lot. Actual cash value subtracts depreciation: a cheaper premium with ACV can leave you far short after a loss. Make sure all three quotes use the same basis before comparing price.
Common gaps to ask about: flood (usually NOT covered by standard home insurance), earthquake, water/sewer backup, ordinance-or-law, equipment breakdown, and sublimits on jewelry/electronics/tools. Confirm what's excluded, not just what's covered.
Before you switch: checklist
Check each box once you have confirmed it. Empty boxes are your to-do list.
- I used my current declarations page as the baseline for all quotes.
- All three quotes have IDENTICAL limits and deductibles.
- All three use the same replacement-cost basis (not ACV vs RCV mix).
- I asked each about flood, water-backup, and other common gaps.
- I checked the wind/hail deductible (often a % of dwelling, not a flat $).
- I confirmed any military/affinity discount actually applied.
- I have a current home inventory (photos, serial numbers) stored off-site.
- I confirmed there's no coverage gap between old and new policy dates.
- For deployment: I understand storage coverage rules (and lender requirements).
- I verified the insurer's license/complaint record with my state department of insurance.
